My Real Estate Group Story

Why I Chose the Real Estate Group

I don’t know if it was fate, providence or just a serendipitous coincidence that brought me to TREG but I must admit that my first response when a good friend told me that she was going to the Real Estate Group was OMG, they’re a 100% company. Now I look back and ask myself why that frightened me? I think most of us that belonged to the real estate behemoths thought that “paying for everything” would cost us more than the split that was assigned to us in perpetuity (and I was at the best split available 80/20). But, here’s what happened to me.

I came on board with TREG in April of 2011 and set my own split at 75/25 and chose to have an in-house office (which costs a little more than doing a virtual office). In 5 months my 25% split with the company had capped and I was earning 100% of my commission. Did you get that? No more split for the rest of the year! For the remainder of the year I could invest that 25% back into my own business, or take a trip, or buy a car, or… And here's what else I get from the Real Estate Group.

Though not mandatory, the training available to us at TREG is better than any company training, certainly in Hampton Roads, but I would put the Real Estate Group on the top tier of any company in the country. And we have a clear idea through our training calendar what will be offered in the upcoming months, enabling us to better manage our time. The Partners, Gary Lundholm, Steven Edwards and Joe Auzenne along with the Virginia Beach Managing Broker, Pam Ermen are easily the best in the business. Here’s just a sample of the comprehensive training offered to us.

From Pam Ermen, a highly sought after trainer on the East coast, the Business Planning and Coaching series is available to us. An intelligent and articulate trainer and broker, Pam teaches us how to run our own small business. A huge number of companies pay Pam for the same training that is available to us for free as TREG agents.

Gary Lundholm leads us through a dedicated training series in maximizing SEO ranking on our individual, interactive and real time websites. These affordable sites are designed especially for the Real Estate Group and it’s agents and include training from a nationally recognized SEO expert.

From Joe Auzenne we are trained in on-line, digital and direct marketing using the latest programs, some of which are proprietary to TREG. Joe also teaches a comprehensive Boot Camp for new agents and the always popular Contract refresher course that keeps us up to date on the latest changes in our contracts and addenda.

And from Steven Edwards we learn the latest listing techniques, pulsing the market and where and what the buyers are buying. As a certified Brian Buffini trainer, Steven not only offers us the courses in house, but he is available to all of the agents who take the courses for updates and coaching, saving the TREG agents thousands of dollars.

So is it more expensive to work at the Real Estate Group than a traditional, you-pay-a-split-forever real estate company? My answer is absolutely, positively not. In fact you can earn more money and keep more of the money you earn.

Is the Real Estate Group for everyone? Maybe not. But if you are the kind of agent who wants to be excited about going to work, and if you are the kind of agent who wants to control your own financial destiny, and if you believe that education and ethics are essential to a successful and lasting business model, you owe it to yourself to talk to one of the brokers at TREG.
